VORTEX, FIRST PODIUM OF 2021

OTK Kart Group's engines are back on track on the occasion of the WSK Champions Cup at the Adria Karting Raceway, showing once again top performances.

KZ2 - Good satisfactions in the gearbox class, with Pedro Hiltbrand and Simo Puhakka (both Tony Kart Racing Team) who make their way through the rivals and get respectively a fifth and a sixth place in the WSK Champions Cup. The Spanish driver stands out at the Adria Karting Raceway also for a fast lap and a second place in the qualifying heats, which result has been doubled also by the Finnish driver. Gilles Stadsbader (Tony Kart Racing Team) also enters the final with the RTZ and RSZ engines, after having reached the top 10 in the pre-final.

OK - Tuukka Taponen (Tony Kart Racing Team) came very close to the podium, fourth position at the end of a weekend always on the top. The Finnish driver also has on his scoreboard a second place in the qualifying, a victory in the heats, a third place and a fast lap in the pre-final. Behind him in the final, Artem Severiukhin (Ward Racing) gains the fifth place with not less than seven positions recovered thanks to the DST engine. In total, nine are the chassis equipped with Vortex engines which reached the decisive final, four of them in the first ten positions: besides the already mentioned Taponen and Sevriukhin, Joseph Turney (Tony Kart Racing Team) gains a victory in the heats and a second place in the pre-final, while Norton Andreasson (Ward Racing) takes a second place in the heats. To be mentioned, then, also the placings of Luigi Coluccio (Kosmic Kart Racing Department), Callum Bradshaw (Tony Kart Racing Team), Markus Kajak (Ward Racing) and Victoria Blokhina (Ward Racing).

OKJ - Podium for Harley Keeble (Tony Kart Racing Team) with the DJT engine, after battling - also with Maksimilian Popov (Ward Racing), fourth - for all 16 laps of the final. Keeble set the fastest lap in the decisive race, also racking up five wins between heat and pre-final, with Popov adding a second place in the same pre-final as the Briton. Freddie Slater (Ricky Flynn Motorsport) hits the eighth position in the final, before another second and two third places in the heats and a third in the pre-final. James Egozi (Tony Kart Racing Team) also finished in the top 10 at his debut in the category. Also seven Vortex engines was employed in the final: Manuel Scognamiglio (Gamoto), Konstantin Krapin (Ward Racing), Ean Eyckans (Kosmic Kart Racing Department), Jonathan Weywadt (RS Competition), August Therbo (Ward Racing), Maxens Verbrugge (Ricky Flynn Motorsport) and Dion Gowda (Ricky Flynn Motorsport).

MINI - Jimmy Helias (Tony Kart Racing Team) is one of the favourites for the final victory thanks to the MCX engine: fourth in the qualifyings, the Frenchman improves with two second places and a fast lap in the heats, then continues with a fourth place in the pre-final. On the last lap of the final, when the podium was in his hands, Helias was hit by another competitor and forced to stop.
