Podium for Vortex at the WSK Euro Series in Sarno

09-11-2023

On the occasion of the last round of the championship, at the Circuito Internazionale Napoli, the VTS engine is once again able to conquer the podium in OK category with David Walther (Tony Kart Racing Team).

OK – The weekend in the "Senior" category begins with the first free practice session featured by three VTS engines in the top four positions, and continues with the excellent performance of the two engines in the top four positions of the third session. In the qualifying heats, however, Vortex gains a third place as the best result and closes the pre-final in fourth place.

The final sees David Walther (Tony Kart Racing Team) as the leader, author of a good start that allows him to move up to third position. The Danish driver thus conquers the top 3 at the end of the race, despite the difficult wet track conditions. Among the top 10 drivers classified we also find Luigi Coluccio (Tony Kart Racing Team), in a race that also sees at the start Jan Przyrowski (Tony Kart Racing Team), very fast during the whole weekend, but unlucky. An accident in the prefinal, however, forces Sebastiano Pavan (Tony Kart Racing Team) not to take part in the race.

OKJ – In the "Junior" category, the VTJ engine records two Top 3 places in free practices, three podiums and a fastest lap in the qualifying heats as well as an additional third place in Sunday morning's A Prefinal. The rain greatly increases the degree of difficulty in the final, but all Vortex-powered drivers still manage to cross the finish line. First among them is Elliot Kaczynski (Ward Racing), followed in the standings by Scott Kin Lindblom (Tony Kart Racing Team), already the winner of round 1 of the WSK Euro Series.

Ludovico Busso (Ward Racing) makes a 14-position comeback and finishes just behind Kaczynski and Lindblom. We also find on track Xiaoyo Sun (Ward Racing), Scott Marsh (Tony Kart Racing Team), Davide Bottaro (Tony Kart Racing Team) and Maria Germano Neto (Tony Kart Racing Team).

Vortex's final haul in the WSK Euro Series includes 1 pole position; 3 victories, 13 podiums and 4 fastest laps in the qualifying heats; 3 Top 3 and 1 best time in the prefinal as well as 1 win in the final.

MINI Gr.3 – Chrono practices see Sebastian Eskandari Marandi (Tony Kart Racing Team) setting the sixth fastest time with the VTM engine. The Australian also scores a third place in the qualifying heats, where Ilie Tristan Crisan (Tony Kart Racing Team) also stands out with a win and a podium. The scorecard is further enriched by Ludovico Mazzola's (Tony Kart Racing Team) second place in the prefinal.

In the last race of the weekend, Tristan Crisan consistently fights for a podium position and crosses the finish line in fourth place. Mazzola makes no mistakes and finishes in the Top 10. The ranking goes on with Bruno Blanco (Tony Kart Racing Team), Leonardo Gorski (Tony Kart Racing Team), Eskandari Marandi and Oliver Sini (Tony Kart Racing Team).

Vortex closes the championship with 1 victory, 3 podiums and 3 fastest laps in the qualifying heats; 2 podiums in the prefinals; two VTM-equipped drivers in the top five positions of the score ranking.

MINI Gr.3 U10 – The Vortex VTM is very fast in the Friday's qualifying heats, with Achille Rea (Tony Kart Racing Team) leader in Group 1 and second position in the combined standings. The Italian driver confirms the performance obtained on the dry lap with a success in the B-D heat on Saturday and the fourth place in the B pre-final on Sunday morning. Our engine, still with Rea, closes the final among the top five drivers, while Tiberius Müller (Tony Kart Racing Team) is able to climb 11 positions from the start.
