A victory and a podium for Vortex at the Margutti Trophy

At the South Garda Karting in Lonato del Garda (Italy), the VTS-N engine triumphed in the OKJ-N category, after a week spent at the top of the ranking. Another podium came for the VTM unit in the MINI Gr.3.

OKJ-N - the Vortex VTS-N gained its first important success in the international fields in this category. Ludovico Mazzola (private team) opened the weekend by recording the third-best time in the only session of qualifying, with +0.072 seconds from the pole position. The Italian driver definitely stood out during the following qualifying heats: thanks to the achievement of two victories, a fourth place, and a fastest lap, he gained the leadership in the intermediate ranking. After a prefinal without mistakes, Mazzola played everything in the final: in the first stages he took the second position and on the eighth lap he moved ahead and, without leaving the leadership, crossed alone the finish line.

MINI Gr.3 - after a victory in the last WSK Super Master Series appointment in Sarno, the Vortex VTM got on the podium of this class. Leonardo Gorski (Tony Kart Racing Team) gained a fourth and a fifth place in the qualifying heats, always recovering 7 positions compared to the start grid, while Oliver Sini (Tony Kart Racing Team) showed off with two comebacks of 15 positions in the first heats. In the prefinal of Sunday morning, Gorski also gave OTK Kart Group's "engine division" a further third place.

The final of the afternoon saw two drivers of the Tony Kart Racing Team as protagonists. From the second row, Gorski had a great start and managed to take the second position in the first laps, while Sini quickly joined the group competing for the podium. In the middle of the race, the Indonesian went on the attack, reached the third position and, in the final sprint on the final straight, gained the definitive honour place. His teammate finished among the best five in the general ranking. In his start in the category, Henri Kumpen (Tony Kart Racing Team) came close to the Top 10.

MINI Gr.3 U10 - the Vortex VTM showed off too, reserved for the Under 10. Achille Rea (Tony Kart Racing Team) achieved fourth place as the best result in the qualifying heat and also recorded the fastest lap, while in the prefinal he climbed the ranking of 13 positions. The Italian ran for a position on the podium in the final on Sunday afternoon, but he missed it for a few tenths of a second. Tiberius Müller (Tony Kart Racing Team), with two Top 5 achieved in the eliminatory heats, and Victor Gorun (Real Racing) also joined the event.
