VORTEX. SPORT RECORDS 2016 – FIRST PART

At the end of all CIK-FIA European Championships of all international categories we can make an evaluation of the first phase of the season. The last race run on the Belgian track of Genk has delivered to Vortex and its Tony Kart Racing Team partner the European title of the most prestigious category, KZ. The winner was Marco Ardigò who brought the Vortex RKZ at its second consecutive continental title. 

The European Championship won with the Tony Kart Racing Team was not the only Vortex continental title, actually even our DDJ model triumphed with Finlay Kenneally of the Ricky Flynn Motorsport in OKJ category. 
Currently, the two prestigious CIK-FIA titles are the last to enter in our board but were not the only ones. The season had already begun with a formidable triumph gained in the International Winter Cup race and has developed with repeating successes in the different WSK trophies. And let’s not forget the many victories came in the prestigious German DKM Championship.
Our new DDS and DDJ engines gave us the satisfaction of having excelled since the debut. So both models have confirmed the impression that all the Vortex team had during the work project and, then, on the eve of the season.
On the occasion of the first race of the year, the WSK Champions, Logan Sargeant (FA Kart-Vortex. Ricky Flynn Motorsport) preceded Karol Basz (Kosmic Kart Racing Department) in OK category, giving us a magnificent double win at the opening event.
It was then the turn of the victory in KZ2, OK and OKJ at the Winter Cup, triple statement obtained thanks to Marco Ardigò, Nicklas Nielsen and Finlay Kenneally. In KZ2 Ardigò was followed by the other RKZ chassis led by Luca Corberi (Tony Kart Racing Team) and in the other two categories without gear, OK and OKJ, the podium was totally Vortex.
Before the debut in several European Championships our engines have claimed success in the Super WSK Master Series, in all three international categories, KZ, OK and OKJ.
Marco Ardigò won three times out of four in the KZ races. In OK class Lorenzo Travisanutto (Tony Kart-Vortex. Ward Racing) won the Super Masters title with a victory, in a trophy in which the other three rounds the top engines were always the DDS engines, led by different drivers belonging to different teams. These drivers were Basz, Nielsen and Sargeant.
Even in the OKJ class in the first two places of the ranking we find Vortex engines. The winner was Sami Taoufik (FA Kart-Vortex. Ricky Flynn Motorsport) ahead of Noah Watt (Tony Kart-Vortex. Baby Race Ltd.), both of these drivers have won a race each and another victory went to the Vortex DDJ driven by Ivan Shvetsov (Tony Kart-Vortex. Ward Racing).
The eagerly awaited events of the European Championship did not disappoint the expectations of the Vortex staff and all the engines produced in Pavia shone for their performance and reliability.
The aforementioned European title won by the RVZ with Marco Ardigò was won with two wins and a third place in three races. An uncommon path that testifies to the harmony between engine, chassis and rider. The satisfaction of the European success in KZ was enhanced also by the presence on the podium of another engine manufactured by us. Second position was indeed taken by Patrik Hajek.
Finlay Kenneally ran the European Championship in OKJ without winning but with impeccable and steady performance. In the cadet class drivers at the top of the podium with Vortex were David Vidales and Noah Watt on the occasion of the individual events, in Spain and Italy. Even though Vortex did not get the continental title in the OK and KZ2 categories, the Vortex result for the performance shown by our engines, is more than satisfactory. In OK we won with Basz in Zuera and fought to the last round for the title and, again OK, we won the final round with Clément Novalak (Tony Kart Racing Team).
In the shifter category, KZ2, was Luca Corberi (Tony Kart Racing Team) the leader, winning the opening championship round in France. Vortex RKZ have also shone in the final round in Genk, getting on the podium with John Norris (Tony Kart-Vortex. KSM Schumacher Racing Team) and Paolo Besancez (Tony Kart-Vortex. Goudant Team).  The DKM championship is still in full swing, in which championship we collected, after three rounds (with a double competition), not less than five victories in all the categories. The successes have gone to Milesi (Tony Kart Racing Team) in OKJ, who is also leader of the provisional ranking. In KZ2 Marco Ardigò won two races and in OK class winners were Karol Basz and Jean Baptiste Simmenauer (Tony Kart Racing Team), both in the running for the title.
Not only the international competitions were coloured by the intense blue Vortex colour, actually from this season also the national and international championships which have chosen the unique supply of engines, got blue. These are the British National Championship (DDS and DDJ) and the one-make CIK-FIA Academy Trophy (DDJ). In both series the engines supplied have guaranteed performance and reliability, leaving a very positive impression on the drivers and the staff workers.
