VORTEX IS CHAMPION OF THE CHAMPIONS OF THE FUTURE

26-10-2021

In view of the FIA Karting World Championship, our DJT engine collects another international title in OKJ class, other than signing a pole and a second position, on the occasion of the last Spanish round of Campillos. Just missed podium for the OK category.

OKJ – After the titles won in the WSK Euro Series, in the FIA Karting European Champions and in the WSK Open Cup, Vortex collects another trophy with the DJT engine in the "Junior" class. Freddie Slater (Ricky Flynn Motorsport), already European Champion this year, finishes the third and final round of the Champions of the Future in seventh position and gaining the necessary points to grant his first place in the final championship ranking. The great protagonist of the weekend is David Walther (Koski Motorsport), author of the pole position, 4 victories (plus 3 fastest laps) in the qualifying heats and of the success in the pre-final. The Danish driver starts in front of everyone in the final and, after a long battle, he finishes with a positive second position. Maxim Rehm (Ricky Flynn Motorsport), twice winner in the qualifying heats, remains in fourth position during the final, while Edgar Anpilogov (Ricky Flynn Motorsport) moves up eight positions and finishes eighth, behind his teammate Slater. In a final that saw 18 out of 36 drivers (half of the grid) powered by Vortex engines at the starting grid, Jan Przyrowski (Tony Kart Racing Team) hits the Top 10, with two wins and a fastest lap in the qualifying heats, ahead of Kirill Dzitiev (Ward Racing), also with a best lap in the heats as well as a second and a third place. Following in the ranking are, in this order, Ean Eyckmans (Kosmic Racing Department) with a 15 positions recovery, James Egozi (Tony Kart Racing Team), Harley Keeble (Tony Kart Racing Team), Jonathan Weywadt (RS Competition) with a victory in the heats, Keanu Al Azhari (Tony Kart Racing Team), German Foteev (Tony Kart Racing Team), Maksimilian Popov (Ward Racing), Jimmy Helias (Tony Kart Racing Team) and Enea Frey (Ricky Flynn Motorsport). It’s a pity for Tobias Clausen (KSM Official Racing Team), who has to stop in the final and triumphs in the Saturday's qualifying heat, as well as Marcus Saeter (Ward Racing) and Dion Gowda (Ricky Flynn Motorsport).

OK - The DST engine comes close to the podium in the master class of the single-speed karts. Norton Andreasson (Ward Racing) shows off on Sunday with a comeback of 8 positions (combined with the fast lap) during the pre-final, a performance that takes him to the second position on the starting grid of the final. The Swedish driver, who was also fast in the final race of the weekend, struggles for the top positions, but finishes with a gap of 1 second from the lowest step of the podium and can be satisfied with the fourth place in the final. Tuukka Taponen (Tony Kart Racing Team) collects two victories and a fastest lap in the qualifying heats, but a stop in the first heat prevents the Finnish driver from entering the pre-final in the top positions. Taponen sets the best lap in the final and climbs 10 positions, enough to be among the top ten drivers of the Spanish weekend. In a final where one third of the starting grid is running with our engines, Caspian Hagman (Ward Racing) is the third best classified driver with our Vortex DST, followed by: Joseph Turney (Tony Kart Racing Team), able to recover 21 positions; Markus Kajak (Ward Racing), with 13 positions regained than the start; Karol Pasiewicz (Ward Racing); Juho Valtanen (Tony Kart Racing Team); Luigi Coluccio (Kosmic Racing Department); Alexander Gubenko (Tony Kart Racing Team). Oscar Pedersen (Ward Racing), Noah Milell (Tony Kart Racing Team) and Artem Severiukhin (Ward Racing) do not finish the race.
