Vortex signs pole and victory at Franciacorta

After the success achieved in the European Championship, in the last race before the summer break, the international season starts again with another first place for the "Engine Division" of OTK Kart Group. This time, in the first out of the two rounds of the WSK Euro Series, it is the VTJ engine the leader of the OKJ category with Scott Kin Lindblom (Tony Kart Racing Team).

OKJ – The Franciacorta round soon opens with the VTJ engine leading the combined qualifying ranking thanks to the best time of Scott Kin Lindblom's (Tony Kart Racing Team), while Elliot Kaczynski (Ward Racing) is second in Group 3 and fifth overall. In the following qualifying heats, the drivers equipped with Vortex engines obtain a total haul of 3 victories, 10 podiums and 3 fastest laps, plus two more Top 3 places and a best lap in the two pre-finals on Sunday morning.

The decisive final sees Lindblom and Kaczynski starting from the second and third positions, respectively. At the start, the two Swedish drivers remain firmly in the leading positions until it is Lindblom who takes the reins of the race. The Tony Kart Racing Team’s driver stays cool for the whole race and takes the victory. Alp Hasan Aksoy (Tony Kart Racing Team) stages a remarkable comeback of 12 positions and arrives at the finish line in fifth place, just a few thousandths of a second ahead of Kaczynski.

Kirill Dzitiev (Tony Kart Racing Team) gains 8 positions in the ranking compared to the start, while Scott Marsh (Tony Kart Racing Team) gains 18. Also attending the final are Xiaoyo Sun (Ward Racing), Maria Germano Neto (Tony Kart Racing Team) and Davide Bottaro (Tony Kart Racing Team).

OK - Sebastiano Pavan (Tony Kart Racing Team) and David Walther (Koski Motorsport) are the two best performers in the Senior category with the VTS engine, authors of four Top 3 placings during the qualifying heats. Among the two, the Italian makes himself the protagonist in Sunday's final, climbing 7 positions during the scheduled 20 laps, and crosses the finishing line in sixth position. Walther is in the back of the group, while Kai Rillaerts (Tony Kart Racing Team) performs a comeback of 8 positions and finishes just behind the Finnish driver.

MINI Gr.3 - The VTM engine is fourth in group 1 of the chrono practices with Ludovico Mazzola (Tony Kart Racing Team), while in the eliminatory heats it records three fast laps and a podium thanks to Ilie Tristan Crisan (Tony Kart Racing Team). The Canadian driver further improves Vortex's overall haul with a third place in B prefinal and climbs on the lowest step of the podium in the final, although at the end of the prize giving he gets a 5-second penalty from the race direction. Oliver Sini (Tony Kart Racing Team) and Mazzola also take part in the last race of the weekend.

MINI Gr.3 U10 - Third place in the combined qualifying ranking for the VTM unit with Sebastian Eskandari Marandi (Tony Kart Racing Team), champion of the WSK Super Cup by MINI last June. The Australian driver gives OTK Kart Group's engine division three more fast laps during the qualifying heats and a third place in the B prefinal; in the final, unfortunately, he finishes at the back of the group due to a collision on the last lap. The race also sees on track Tiberius Müller (Tony Kart Racing Team) and Achille Rea (Tony Kart Racing Team).
