Vortex files the OK-OKJ world championship in Brandon
The curtain falls on the 2024 edition of the FIA Karting World Championship reserved for single-gear categories, staged at the PF International Kart Circuit in the United Kingdom.
OKJ – In a category with about 120 drivers at the starting grid tapes, the Vortex VTJ kicks off with the odds stacked in its favor after winning the previous week at the British track, on the occasion of the last round of the Champions of the Future Euro Series. On the world championship weekend, however, Scott Marsh (Tony Kart Racing Team) has to settle for it and finishes the final close to the top-5 after collecting three podiums during the qualifying heats. An incident in the second heat certainly prevented to double the success on the PFI circuit: subsequently complicating the next stages of the race.
Even in bad weather conditions, the VTJ proves to be competitive and reliable, as confirmed by the results and performances collected by Ilie Tristan Crisan (third best time in group 5 of the qualifyings and three top-3 positions in the heats), Augustus Toniolo (15 positions recovered in the final) and Oliver Rasmussen of the Tony Kart Racing Team, at the start of the last race of this overseas trip.
OK – There are not less than 105 drivers attending the races in the “Senior” class, in which the Vortex VTS goes to the track. At the top of the category, we find one of the Vortex drivers, David Walther (Tony Kart Racing Team), among the top ten in the Saturday night's intermediate ranking. The rain, however, heavily concerns the outcome of the final, featured by numerous retirements. Among them also that of the Danish driver who is forced to end his race early.
