28-11-2024

In the last round of the WSK Final Cup, the OTK Kart Group's ‘engine division’ finishes second in the OKJ final with the VTJ engine, while the VTS-N and VTM engines finish third in the OK-N and MINI Gr.3 U10 categories, respectively.

OKJ – As in the previous round at Lonato del Garda, it is Ilie Tristan Crisan (Tony Kart Racing Team) who is the main Vortex Engines' drivers among the “Juniors”. The Canadian driver, constantly at the top of the standings during the weekend, gains the third place in the A pre-final on Sunday morning.

In the final, Crisan wonders everyone at the start: jumped from the fourth row, the young North American driver immediately takes the reins of the race after a few corners. At the end of the race Crisan hits the second position, a result that confirms his growth during his debut season in the category. Augustus Toniolo (Tony Kart Racing Team) and Cole Denholm (Tony Kart Racing Team) also finish the race, the latter despite a collision shortly after the start.

OK-N - The Vortex VTS-N weekend starts immediately with a second and a third place in the qualifying practices, gained by Mike Parhiala (Kohtala Sports) and Andrea Giudice (Marra 61 Kart Racing Team), and continues with a win and two second places in the qualifying heats. Also the Saturday afternoon's prefinal sees Vortex taking a top-3 place.

Without making any mistakes at the start, Giudice initially runs in the third position and, after giving it up for a while in the central phase of the race, he is able to gain the third step of the podium under the chequered flag. Parhiala closes the event positively with the fifth place.

MINI Gr.3 U10 – The VTM engine takes the top positions right from the qualifying practice, with Jean Poujol (Tony Kart Racing Team) setting the second-best time in Group 1, and obtains two podiums during the qualifying heats with Victor Thomas Gorun (Real Racing). The French and the Romanian drivers are then second and third respectively in Sunday morning's A Prefinal.

In the afternoon final, too, Poujol and Gorun also show off. Initially it is the Tony Kart Racing Team driver who fights for the victory, but in the last laps he is involved in some collisions that do not allow him to obtain a significant result. With a solid performance in the first part of the race, the driver of Real Racing team is able to emerge instead in the final laps finally gaining the third position.

Linghan Li (Tony Kart Racing Team) gains nine positions compared to his starting position ranked just ahead Andrea Iannone (Tony Kart Racing Team), Henri Möhring (Tony Kart Racing Team) and Tiberius Müller (Tony Kart Racing Team).

OKJ-N - After the pole position at Lonato del Garda, the VTS-N engine obtains the second place in Group 2 of the chrono practices with Henri Kumpen (Moni Nicolas), who unfortunately sees his weekend wrecked by an injury suffered in one heat. The Belgian driver nevertheless takes the second place in the championship. At the end of the final, there are three Vortex representatives in the top ten list: Oiva Vettenranta (Kohtala Sports), Kumpen (second classified in the championship) and Mael Le Marchand (Moni Nicolas). Juho Nieminem (Kohtala Sports) also takes part in the last race of the weekend.

OK – Just back from the fourth place obtained in the final of the previous championship round, the VTS engine attends the final with Jindrich Pesl (Tony Kart Racing Team), Oliver Rasmussen (Tony Kart Racing Team), David Walther (Tony Kart Racing Team) and Macauley Bishop (Tony Kart Racing Team).
