Competitive Vortex in Campillos for the European Championship for OK-OKJ

On the occasion of the first round of the FIA Karting European Championship reserved for the single-gear categories, OTK Kart Group's ‘engine division’ achieves high-performances.

OKJ - Once again, after the success gained a week ago at the Champions of the Future Euro Series, the Vortex VTJ is among the protagonists of the category in Campillos. The ‘Junior’ engine opens the Friday with first and second place in the first stage of the free practice sessions, after which it sets the second best chrono time in Group 1 of the heats. In the next qualifying heats, the VTJ achieves a win, three top-3 places and three fastest laps, other than a best lap in the Super Heat A.

Showing off in the Sunday afternoon's final is Ilie Tristan Crisan (Tony Kart Racing Team). The Canadian driver, winner of the first round of the COTF, recovers a total of nine positions, coming close to the top-5 and thus setting the fastest time of the race with 1:02.058. The final’s starting grid also sees Nikita Ljubimov (Tony Kart Racing Team) and Julian Frasnelli (Tony Kart Racing Team).

OK - In a category that with not less than 89 drivers registered in the event, the Vortex VTS proves to be fast and competitive from Friday already, gaining two top-3 positions in the morning's free practice, a second place in Group 1 and the best time in Group 3 in the qualifyings. In the heats, the ‘Senior’ driver also distinguishes himself with a haul of two victories and two podiums.

In the Sunday's final, Thomas Pradier (Tony Kart Racing Team) starts from the fourth row and in the early stages maintains his position. The French driver, with consistency and no mistakes, is able to cross the finish line ranking among the top ten. Gino Rocchio (Tony Kart Racing Team) climbs the classification by a good 13 positions, while Jindřich Pešl (Tony Kart Racing Team) is the third Vortex driver in the rankings.
