Vortex faces the opening round of the European Championship for KZ-KZ2 classes
OTK Kart Group's “engine division” engines is back at the Kartodromo Internacional Lucas Guerrero in Valencia (Spain) to face the FIA Karting European Championship reserved for the shifter categories.
KZ – The Vortex VTZ faces for the first time the Kartodromo Internacional Lucas Guerrero, which had previously hosted the European championship of OK and OKJ categories. The master category of the shifter karts includes four drivers, all lined up for the Tony Kart Racing Team: Lorenzo Camplese, Francesco Celenta, Marijn Kremers and Tom Leuillet.
Leading the patrol of the OTK Kart Group's ‘engine division’ are Leuillet and Camplese: the French driver is one of the main leaders of Sunday morning's super heat, signing the third place and the best lap of the race, after having performed a remarkable 13-position comeback. The Italian driver, on the other hand, runs constant in all the heats of the weekend and, together with his teammate, fights for a top-10 result in the final.
KZ2 - The VTZ engine is at the starting grid of the category with Nicola Rossini (Tony Kart Racing Team). Despite his little experience on the Spanish circuit and a total of 62 participants, the Italian steadily improves his performance over the weekend and attends the final on Sunday afternoon.
Academy-Junior – After having started the ‘Senior’ a few weeks ago in Portimão (Portugal), Vortex Engines and Exprit Kart also inaugurate the season of the FIA Karting Academy Trophy-Junior. The two OTK Kart Group brands are once again alongside the International Automobile Federation (FIA) in this championship, which sees as many as 49 drivers aged between 12 and 14 from all over the world, competing in Spain. The final sees Mael Le Marchand (France) winning, ahead of Nojus Stasionis (Lithuania), second, and Erik Poulsen (Sweden), third.
