Vortex at the turning point of the Champions of the Future
The ‘engine division’ of OTK Kart Group faces the third round (out of five) of the Euro Series, run at the Leopard Circuit Viterbo in Italy which will also host the next round of the FIA Karting European Championship OK-OKJ.
OKJ – After the recent podium gained on the occasion of the FIA Karting European Championship round in Portimão, the Vortex VTJ once again takes a top position in the category, which sees not less than 92 drivers in Viterbo. Ilie Tristan Crisan (Tony Kart Racing Team) sets the second best time in Group 1 and collects two victories, two top-3s and a fastest lap in the subsequent qualifying heats, as well as a third place in the Super Heat A of Saturday morning.
In addition to these results obtained by the Canadian driver, we have on track the rookie Julian Frasnelli (Tony Kart Racing Team) gaining a third place in the qualifying heats.
The final heat starts with Crisan involved in a difficult fight for the first positions. The Canadian driver runs constantly battling for a top position until the chequered flag. The last race of the weekend also sees at the starting grid the Italian driver Frasnelli and the French Mateo Rivals (Tony Kart Racing Team).
OK – The Vortex VTS comes back to Viterbo more than two months after the victory in the last round of the WSK Super Master Series. Jindřich Pešl (Tony Kart Racing Team) and Thomas Pradier (Tony Kart Racing Team) start the weekend positively, gaining the second and third place in groups 2 and 3, respectively.
The ‘Senior’ engine of the OTK Kart Group’s engine division also collects not less than two wins, four top-3s and a fastest lap in the qualifying heats, plus a third place in Super Heat A.
Nevertheless, the final is not so lucky for the two Tony Kart Racing Team’s drivers, with the Czech forced to retire in the very early stages of the race and the French driver involved in some collisions that prevent him from collecting an important result.
