In the fourth round of the ACI Italian Karting Championship, OTK Kart Group’s ‘engine division’ won the OK-N category final and finished third in the MINI Gr.3. Over the same weekend, our engines also took part in the fourth round of the Champions of the Future Euro Series in Kristianstad (Sweden).

OK – In the fourth round of the Champions of the Future Euro Series, held in Kristianstad (Sweden) and featuring 91 drivers entered in the ‘Senior’ class, the Vortex VTS secured second place as its best result in the qualifying heats thanks to Jindřich Pešl (Tony Kart Racing Team) and enabled Ilie Tristan Crisan (Tony Kart Racing Team) to make up 17 places between qualifying and the super heat. The Canadian also stood out in the final, finishing just outside the top 10.

OKJ – In the “Junior” class, with 86 drivers on the starting grid, the VTJ engine received positive feedback, including Julian Frasnelli’s (Tony Kart Racing Team) 22-place climb up the provisional standings at the end of the qualifying heats. Despite the promising start, the Italian – who finished third in the previous round at Mülsen – was forced to retire from the final, in which Antonio Ianni (Tony Kart Racing Team).

OK-N – The Vortex VTS-N came out on top in the fourth round of the ACI Italian Karting Championship, held at Val Vibrata, which saw 81 verified drivers in the “Senior” category. Our engine kicked off the weekend with the fastest time in Group 2 and second place in Group 1 of qualifying, followed by six top-three finishes in the qualifying heats and a third-place finish in Pre-final A.

Having spent the entire event at the top of the standings, Andrea Giudice (Tony Kart Racing Team) went on the attack in Sunday afternoon’s final, which took place on a track surface that was a mix of dry and wet tarmac. The Italian took the lead straight out of the first corner and, following an intense battle for the lead, built up a significant advantage in the final laps to secure victory.

Valerio De Gaetano (PRK) staged a remarkable comeback, climbing 14 places to finish the race ahead of Zachary Taylor (KGT Motorsport) and Jenson Eric Burns (Tony Kart Racing Team).

OKJ-N – The VTS-N also achieved notable results among the Juniors in the Italian championship, including fourth place in the first qualifying group and a haul of two wins and a third place in the qualifying heats.

Following the promising signs shown in the previous days, Victor Thomas Gorun (Tony Kart Racing Team) faced a difficult final on wet tarmac that was gradually improving, yet still managed to finish in the top 10. Domenico Coco (KGT Motorsport) and Giuseppe Noviello (Tony Kart Racing Team) also lined up at the start of the race.

MINI Gr.3 – The Vortex VTM was among the main contenders for victory at Val Vibrata right from qualifying: the engine from the OTK Kart Group’s ‘engine division’ secured second place in Group 2 and third in Group 1. In the subsequent qualifying heats, six top-three finishes were added to the overall tally, along with two further top-three placings in the pre-finals.

In the final, despite starting from the middle of the field, Alfie Richard Mair (Tony Kart Racing Team) quickly moved up into the leading group and was in contention for the win right until the end, securing third place on the podium.

Close behind the British driver were Alvaro Medeiros (Tony Kart Racing Team), who was second in the early stages of the race, Zane Pace (Tony Kart Racing Team), David Johannes Aagten (Tony Kart Racing Team), Nahil Padovani Amador (Tony Kart Racing Team) and Farel Beretta Dugat (Tony Kart Racing Team).

MINI Gr.3 U10 – In the youngest category, VTM got off to a positive start with a third place in Group 2 of qualifying and a top-three finish in the qualifying heats, again with Romeo Ferrante (Tony Kart Racing Team). In the final, however, it was Aiden Moreira (Tony Kart Racing Team) who stood out, managing to make up ten places and secure a top-10 finish.
