Vortex with the Dakton next-generation data capture system

The first event of the season is coming. With the Winter Cup event in Lonato, scheduled to be run on the next weekend, our professional season is officially beginning.
Vortex will be, as usual, the Tony Kart Racing Team and Kosmic Kart Racing Department’s indissoluble partner.
From this year on, our engineers will have at their disposition the very new next-generation data capture system, called DAKTON.
This tool will be able to give precious information about our chassis performance, so we will have exact data telling us if our work was well done or what aspects can be further developed to take advantage of our technical potential at .

DAKTON. THE NEW CAPTURE DATA SYSTEM
The next-generation Dakton capture data system is ready to be launched.
RKS, the factory qualified in the design of software systems for data capture, together with OTK Kart Group Research and Development’s department,  has realized a data capture system aimed at ameliorating its go karts and competition engines’ performance.
Dakton collects, analyses and converts data coming from chassis and engine in a complete manner so that such information is clear and ready for drivers and teams.
This is a memorable goal for OTK Kart Group, the world’s leader manufacturer of the famous Tony Kart brands, Kosmic, Fa Kart, Exprit and Vortex, which has been supplying next-generation chassis in terms of technology, material and engineering, allowing its customers to stand out in all sporting tracks on the occasion of top-level competitions. 
From today, the new DAKTON data capture system represents a valid equipment for the set-up of chassis; furthermore it allows a 360° kart control, anytime, in a rapid and efficient way.
This system comes from the direct experience at the track of the Tony Kart Racing Team, which during the two past seasons, employed and tested together with its engineers, data capture systems aimed at implementing the chassis performance. This accurate and wise work comes today with a precise and efficacious system, totally adaptable to any driver’s need.
Three different DAKTON systems will be available: DAKTON-XEL, DAKTON-XTRA and DAKTON-XPERT.
From the base model, and the intermediate one, to the most sophisticated one: the choice is up to the type of analysis needed. We remind that the purchase of additional parts includes the upgrade, so there is no need to setup or configure the software anytime.
Dakton system soon proves to come from the experience of a solid factory such as OTK Kart Group. Its compact and good shapes are the first sign proving the great knowledge of this project. This way, even before going to the track, Dakton highlights its top-level features of all its parts; this high-quality product can be easily mounted on the chassis.

• RPM Cable. It reads-time engine RPM data and displays them on the monitor
• Timing sensor. It allows timing and sector capture at each lap
• Water sensor + cable. It allows water temperature measuring and limit control through an alarm led
• Rechargeable battery + Cable for lithium battery inside the monitor

Features
It does not allow downloading the data on the PC but the monitor shows all lap timings, partial timings, maximum RPM, highest water temperature and the data concerning any additional sensor.

DAKTON-XEL Target
Conceived for drivers who need to have basic data and information concerning the test sessions performed at the track and who wish to have reliable equipment, simple to be read as well as solid and precise.

Equipment

• Display to be mounted in the steering wheel for an immediate reading of data
• RPM Cable. It reads-time engine RPM data and displays them on the monitor
• Timing sensor. It allows timing and sector capture at each lap
• Water sensor + cable. It allows water temperature measuring and limit control through an alarm led
• Rechargeable battery + Cable for lithium battery inside the monitor
• Speed sensor
• Data logger micro-box (m-box). Interface allowing the data recording for future PC analysis; it also includes accelerometers, longitudinal and lateral G-force sensors for the circuit mapping. Export of data is possible through data cable or Bluetooth. This way it is not necessary to stay close to the kart while downloading data.

Features
Next-generation system supplying important parameters to engineers and driver. All data can be downloaded (by way of the Data log m-box) and converted to graphic formats.
Graphics allow evaluating the lap-timings, RPM, speed and water temperature anyway along the circuit.
Data of different laps, of the same test session or of several test sessions can be compared.
Thanks to accelerometers, which the m-box is equipped with, it is possible to draw the track planimetry and evaluate any chassis acceleration of deceleration point, important data for the performance analysis.

DAKTON-XTRA Target
Conceived for drivers and engineers who wish to accurately examine in depth and analyse the chassis lap by lap and anytime during the competition.

• RPM Cable. It reads-time engine RPM data and displays them on the monitor
• Timing sensor. It allows timing and sector capture at each lap

• Pedal sensors. They allow to have the exact pedals position (brake and accelerator) anytime during the test sessions
